Connections for America’s Heroes
PAVE is a nationally recognized mentor initiative for veterans created by the University of Michigan. It connects incoming student veterans with peer advisors, allowing them to learn to navigate higher education and build connections with their fellow student veterans.
Those who serve our country come from different backgrounds and have different beliefs, but they share a common experience and bond. Because this program is about student veterans working with their fellow student veterans they share a common understanding and vocabulary, they automatically have connection based on their service.

One of the main goal’s the PAVE program has is to build a self-sustaining network for student veterans at Chemeketa and across the country, while informing the student body as well as faculty and staff of military and veteran culture. This program helps our student veterans feel a sense of belonging at Chemeketa while supporting the leaders with additional funding and the ability to help forge greater connections to their brothers and sisters in arms. If you are a student veteran, expect to get connected during Spring term with your new PAVE Peer Advisor.

We invite you to learn more about our services at Chemeketa for veteran and military students. Want to come and see these advantages for yourself? As soon as we are back on campus, please visit our Student Veteran Resource Center in building 2, next to Counseling and Advising, or contact the Veteran Services Coordinator directly via: email at [email protected], Text 503-563-3683 or contact her office number at 503-399-6148.
