Mike has worked at Chemeketa since 1997. His first Chemeketa experience was as a student, right after graduating from high school. Like many first generation college students, Mike struggled and left school after only one term. The next stop on Mike's academic journey was at Linn-Benton Community College where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in HVAC.

Mike soon returned to Chemeketa to pursue prerequisites before transferring to pursue a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master's degree in counseling. After becoming a counselor for a TRIO program at Western Oregon University, Mike returned to Chemeketa to become the Coordinator for Chemeketa's own TRIO program, which he managed for 19 years before moving into his current role.
